TRIPS

Thanks to its perfect location half way down the Adriatic coast, Vir is an excellent starting point for various excursions. The protected landscape of Kornati, Paklenica and Krka as well as historical places like Zadar and Nin are not more than 100 km away.

Zadar

Zadar is one of the most  beautiful cities at the Adriatic coast. Zadar is 3,000 year old and has once been Dalmatia’s capital for many centuries – today, Zadar is the center of the region. Zadar’s claim to fame is the pre-romanic round church called “Sv. Donat” dating back to the 9th century.

Nin

Situated between Vir and Zadar, Nin was in the 7th century the first political, cultural and religious centre of Croatian rulers. From the 9th century onwards it was a permanent bishop’s see. Nin is most famous for the sandy beach of “Kraljičina plaža – Nin (Sabunike)”, which water sportsmen must not miss. More information!

Nationalpark Kornati
